The bride-to-be threw a lavish bachelorette party at the One and Only Royal Mirage luxury hotel in Dubai.
28-year-old Mina Basaran, a Turkish heiress, and a bride-to-be, posted a picture with seven smiling friends from a Dubai resort. The picture seemed to be the start of the girls’ bachelorette party. No one knew it would be her last post. Mina, along with her entire wedding entourage, died in a plane crash on their way home from their lavish bachelorette party at the One and Only Royal Mirage luxury hotel in Dubai.
Mina was set to marry Murat Gezer in April.
The plane that crashed into an Iranian mountainside was owned by a private holding company of her father, Turkish businessman Huseyin Basaran. Mina’s father owns several companies and is the top shareholder of Bahrain Middle East Bank BSC. One of Huseyin’s construction projects included luxury apartment blocks called “Mina Towers,” named after his daughter.
According to a report by buzzflare, “the plane rapidly gained altitude at about an hour into the flight, then dropped quickly within just a few minutes and hit the mountainside. Witnesses recalled seeing the plane on fire even before it hit the mountain.”
Mina was one of nine Turkish nationals, including the plane’s crew, killed in the crash. Two of her Spanish friends were also killed. The cause of the crash remains unclear, but a witness told state television the Bombardier CL604 was on fire before it hit the mountain.
