His songs will live forever.
Outside George Michael’s Mill Cottage home in Goring on Thames, two reindeer sculptures lit by fairy lights were still illuminated in the garden, while a Christmas wreath covered in apples, berries and pine cones hung on a side door. George and his boyfriend Fadi Fawaz intended to celebrate Christmas together—but he went first—dying peacefully in his sleep on Christmas morning.
The 53-year-old iconic singer was found by his boyfriend on Christmas morning, as the couple had previously planned to eat lunch together.
Fadi Fawaz said: “We were supposed to be going for Christmas lunch. I went round there to wake him up and he was just gone, lying peacefully in bed. We don’t know what happened yet.
“Everything had been very complicated recently, but George was looking forward to Christmas, and so was I.
“Now everything is ruined. I want people to remember him the way he was – he was a beautiful person.”
George Michael became popular with his hit songs, Careless Whisper, Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go, and his diamond-selling-hit-song, Faith.
