Her family reported her missing on Friday, November 10, 2017.
A 23-year-old bank employee was allegedly raped before she was brutally killed, and burnt. Her remains were found inside a garage of a towing company in Barangay Rosario, Pasig City.
The victim, identified as Mabel Tagama Cama, was found on Sunday morning with her underwear placed beside her. Half of her body was completely burnt, and some parts of her clothing were missing, indicating that she might have been raped before she was brutally killed.
“Kalahati ng katawan, sunog. At nakahubad ‘yung mga pang-itaas na damit,” said Police Senior Inspector Obet Garcia, adding that the victim’s personal belongings were also missing.
[Half her body was burnt. Her upper clothing was missing as well.]
According to Brgy. Rosario Executive Officer Floriezel Santos, the victim was last seen around 11:00 in the evening, knocking at their house’s door but nobody opened the door for her. The witness also claimed to have seen two men, believed to be the suspects, lurking around the victim during that time.
In addition to this, the compound where Cama’s house was located has been confirmed to be a drug den, where several anti-drug operations were taken out but no arrests were made.
Police were convinced that the perpetrators were the workers inside the impounding area.
“Kung doon nangyari ‘yon at may nagsunog pa, maaari naman sigurong may alam sila kaya kung meron, tumulong po kayo sa amin sa pagresolba ng kasong ito,” Garcia said.
[If the incident happened there and the suspect even burnt the victim, the workers know something for sure. We are urging anybody who knows anything to come forward and help us in the investigation.]
Police said they have already established the motive of the crime, but they declined to give further details on it. Just like the police, Cama’s family refused to give a statement on the incident as the suspects are still at large.
